ROYAL ADELAIDE GOLF CLUB

The Par 72 Royal Adelaide Golf Club links at Seaton has been the venue for many international and interstate matches and championships. The club has hosted nine Open Championships of Australia and 16 Amateur Championships of Australia. A one-of-a-kind course, Royal Adelaide has changed substantially over the years, yet retained its fundamental character and charm. Originally designed by C.L. Gardiner and H.L. Rymill, the course received its most notable overhaul in 1926 by famed golf architect Dr Alister MacKenzie.

Royal Adelaide retains the distinctive character of a comparatively open links course but is one of the most unique courses in Australia. A major part of this is due to the train line running through the middle. Admittedly this is only on some holes, but coupled with the look of the yellow, wispy grass on the side of the fairways, and exuberant green running between, Royal Adelaide is a must play golf course, currently ranked No. 9 in Australia.
