Lake Karrinyup Golf Course

Lake Karrinyup Country Club is widely acknowledged as Western Australia’s premier golf club, and is now home to the ISPS Handa World Super 6. Just 13km north of Perth’s CBD, Lake Karrinyup is a tranquil botanical haven for wildlife including native birds and kangaroos. The championship course is a par-72 layout that winds its way through undulating ground, native gum-trees, and indigenous vegetation. Designed by Alex Russell in 1928 and opened for play in 1930, the course has seen a number of changes in its lifetime. The most significant changes occurred between 2007 and 2008, when Michael Clayton Golf Design was enlisted to undertake a significant overhaul of the golf course to return it, aesthetically and architecturally, to Alex Russell’s principles. It is a tough course that has hosted four Australian Opens with many blind tee shots which call for courage. As the only course in Western Australia to have hosted a national Open, Lake Karrinyup has enjoyed decades of recognition as the region’s golfing jewel. Lake Karrinyup is currently ranked the No. 17 course in Australia.
